Early life

Todd was born in the year 1971 back in Lower Township Macungie, Pennsylvania. He went on to develop an interest in computers, specifically video games, at a young age. He then considered UltimaIII: Exodus and Wizardry to be inspirations for his very games to come in the future. He is a graduate student at Emmaus High School in 1989, Pennsylvania. In the year 1993, he graduated from the College of William & Mary at Williamsburg, Virginia.


In 1994 his first game development credit for the Bethesda Softworks was basically as the producer and designer of TheTerminatorfollowed by the design on The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall, which was released in the year 1996. Todd was the project leader and the designer of The Elder Adventures: Redguard that was released in 1998. Howard is also a speaker at the industry events, and in various magazine interviews.

Todd Howard was named as “The Best Game Director” by none other than the Academy of Interactive Arts and the  Sciences in the year 2012. In 2014, he also went on to receive the Lara of Honor, which is Germany’s lifetime award achievement for the gaming.
